Nududu terms of use
Effective date: [Effective date]
In short
Nududu is a free app to help you learn about food and health and keep track of your own numbers, such as blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, salt and medicines. It is not a doctor. It does not diagnose illness, prescribe treatment or replace your health worker. Always follow the advice of your doctor, nurse, pharmacist or other health worker, and never stop or change a medicine because of something in the app. If you feel very unwell, or the app warns that a reading is dangerously high, get medical help straight away. Your information stays on your phone, and you are responsible for keeping it safe. By using Nududu you agree to these terms.
Who we are
Nududu is provided by [Company legal name], [Registered address] ("we", "us").
- Email: [Contact email]
- WhatsApp: [WhatsApp support number]
These terms are an agreement between you and us about using the Nududu website app and Android app ("Nududu" or "the app"). Please also read our privacy policy, which explains how your information is handled.
Medical disclaimer: please read carefully
- Nududu is for health education and for keeping your own records. It is not a medical device, and it is not medical advice.
- Nududu does not diagnose any illness. Labels such as "normal", "high" or "crisis" next to a reading are general guides based on common published limits. They are not a diagnosis. Only a trained health worker can diagnose you.
- Nududu does not treat any illness and does not tell you which medicine to take. Never start, stop, skip or change the dose of a medicine because of the app. Talk to your health worker first.
- Food can help your health, but food does not replace medicine. "Food as medicine, alongside your medicine" means healthy food works together with the treatment your health worker gives you.
- The food guides, the guide to 100 health conditions, meal plans and daily targets are general information for adults. They may not be right for you. This is especially true if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have kidney, liver or heart disease, have diabetes, take medicines that affect potassium or blood sugar, or have any other medical condition. Agree your diet and targets with your health worker.
- Nutrition and salt numbers are estimates for typical recipes and brands. Real foods and cooking vary. The numbers will not be exact.
- The results depend on what you type in. If a reading or amount is entered wrongly, the results will be wrong.
- Home blood pressure and blood sugar machines can give wrong readings. If a result seems strange, measure again and check with your health worker.
- Nududu may not show every warning sign. A normal-looking result in the app does not mean you are well. If you feel unwell, see a health worker even if the app shows nothing worrying.
Emergencies
Nududu is not an emergency service. It cannot call for help and nobody watches your readings.
Go to the nearest hospital or call your local emergency number straight away if:
- your blood pressure is above 180/120 when you measure again after resting for 5 minutes, or
- you have chest pain, a severe headache, shortness of breath, weakness or numbness, confusion, or trouble seeing or speaking, or
- you have very high or very low blood sugar with feeling unwell, or
- you think you may be having any other medical emergency.
Do not wait for the app, and do not rely on the app, in an emergency.
Who can use Nududu
- Nududu is made for adults aged 18 and over.
- A young person under 18 should only use Nududu with the help and permission of a parent or guardian, and the parent or guardian is responsible for that use.
- The targets and advice in the app are designed for adults. They are not suitable for children.
Languages and translations
- Nududu is written in English. The other languages are early drafts made with the help of computer translation. They are marked "Draft" in the app and are still being checked by native speakers.
- Translations may contain mistakes. If something is unclear or seems wrong, check the English text or ask your health worker.
- Emergency warnings are also shown in English when the app is in another language.
- If a translation and the English text say different things, the English text is the one that counts.
Your information and your responsibilities
- Your Nududu information is stored on your own phone or browser, not by us. See the privacy policy.
- You are responsible for keeping your phone, backup files and shared reports safe. Use a screen lock if you can.
- We cannot recover information that is lost, for example if your phone is lost, reset or broken, or if you clear the app's data. Save a backup regularly if your records matter to you.
- When you share your clinic report, for example on WhatsApp, you choose who receives it. We are not responsible for what other apps or people do with it.
- The clinic report is a summary of what you entered. It is to help a conversation with your health worker. Health workers should use their own judgement and measurements.
Using Nududu fairly
You agree not to:
- use Nududu to break any law;
- copy, sell or rent out the app or its content as your own, except as these terms or the law allow;
- try to break, hack or overload the app or the website; or
- pretend that Nududu content is advice from a health worker.
Free app, no guarantee
- Nududu is free. We do not promise that it will always be available, work on every phone, or be free of mistakes.
- We may change, add or remove features, including the optional online backup described in the privacy policy. If we add a feature that involves an account, we may ask you to agree to extra terms for it before you use it.
- We may stop offering Nududu. If we do, the information on your phone stays there until you delete it, and you can still save a backup.
Our responsibility to you
- Nududu is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we do not give any promise or guarantee about the app or its content, including that the content is complete, correct or suitable for you.
- To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss, harm or damage that comes from using or not being able to use Nududu, from relying on its content, from mistakes in translations or estimates, or from lost information.
- Nothing in these terms limits or removes any right you have under consumer protection law, or any responsibility we have that the law does not allow us to limit or remove (for example, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud).
Content and trademarks
- The Nududu name, logo, text, food database, condition guides and design belong to [Company legal name] or the people who licensed them to us.
- You may use the app for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may print or share your own clinic report.
- Health workers and community groups may show Nududu to patients and help them use it.
Suggestions and feedback
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve Nududu without paying you. Please do not send us your health readings or personal health details by email or WhatsApp unless you need to, because then we will have a copy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the effective date at the top, and show a notice in the app if the change is important. If you keep using Nududu after a change, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, stop using the app.
Law and complaints
- These terms are governed by the law of [Governing law country]. If you live in another country, you may still have the protection of the consumer laws of your own country.
- If you have a complaint, please contact us first at [Contact email] or [WhatsApp support number]. We will try to solve it quickly and fairly.
